A Forgotten Companion?

This has probably been asked before, but this is something that only
just occurred to my slow, somtimes dense, little brain: if the Time
Lords and Galifrey are gone in a time war, what happened to Lela and
her hubby? And if you consider the books to be even slightly worth
considering, Lela's baby?

OTOH as one of the few Gallifreyans with direct, first-hand experience
of fighting Daleks, she would've been conscripted right away at the
start of the war. Leading the vanguard, she probably tripped and
sprained her ankle, allowing the Daleks to win the battle...

It's funny that the Time Lords wanted Romana back so badly, but it's
almost if they never knew about Susan; not once have they ever said
anything about her. It's almost like they have gone out of their way
to forget her...

I would have thought that with Susan living on 22nd century Earth, she
wouldn't be involved in the affairs of Galifrey. And if you give any
credence to John Peel's book, Susan had taken the Master's TARDIS just
befor the events of the Deadly Assassin and had gone off for parts
unknown.

To someone outside the United States, everyone from the USA is a Yankee.

To someone from another part of the United States, only someone who comes
from the north is a Yankee.

"Time Lord" could be like that. To someone in most of the universe, "Time
Lord" can mean anyone from Gallifrey. To someone on Gallifrey, "Time Lord"
refers to a specific subgroup.

I say it's because Susan isn't-- wasn't (?)-- a true Time Lord, but
everybody dumped on me over that belief. :-)

Not me. :) I think that you could be right. She was certainly a
Gallifreyan, but I don't think that all Gallifreyans were Time Lords. To
quote the Wikipedia article "Time Lord":

'It is implied (in The Invasion of Time and The Deadly Assassin) that
the terms "Gallifreyan" and "Time Lord" may not be synonymous, and that
Time Lords are simply that subset of Gallifreyans who have achieved the
status of Time Lord via achievement in the Gallifreyan collegiate
system...'

All time Lords are Galifreayan. Yet not all Gallifreyans are Time Lords.

Romana must have been highly wanted. Susan OTOH who knows
why she was not wanted back? Barusa knew about her.
